Remove Request Area field and set default Request Area

Hi there,

I am trying to remove the Request area field from the detail_cr.htmpl page and add a default Request Area for all new Requests.

What I did is to get the pcat of the request are using:
pdm_extract –f “SELECT persid FROM Prob_Category WHERE sym=’Level1_Area’”

I got: pcat:400021

Then I removed the Request Area from the detail_cr.htmpl page and added this line:
<input type="hidden" name="SET.category" value="pcat:400021">

The problem is that this was working fine in SD 11.2, but here in SD 12.1, it is not working. When I open tickets from this htmpl page, I get a blank Request Area.

How can I force the new Requests to have this Request Area: Level1_Area ??

You need to set it fm Data Partitions "default" constraint, I was facing the same issue in R12.1 and therefore switched to changing this from data partition, problem got slved for me... Try it.

You can also assign any requests created by the employee to the group which handles that particular Incident area, like we have done in our case and like Abhi said, this is also done through data partitions.
